The Los Angeles Clippers pulled off a dramatic 121–117 overtime comeback win on the road against the Toronto Raptors, showcasing their depth and resilience despite significant absences. With Kawhi Leonard and John Collins both sidelined, the Clippers leaned heavily on their young players and bench unit to secure the victory.
Leonard has been diagnosed with a left knee contusion and is currently listed as day-to-day. This issue is separate from the right ankle injury he had been playing through earlier, and he is expected to miss the upcoming matchup against the Washington Wizards as well.
The Wizards, meanwhile, suffered a 115–121 road loss to the Denver Nuggets. Washington held a slim 63–62 halftime lead, with Khris Middleton and Alexandre Sarr both scoring in double figures. The Wizards also edged Denver 23–17 on the boards in the first half. However, as has often been the case this season, the talent gap became evident late. In the fourth quarter, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Jamal Murray combined for 31 of Denver’s 38 points, while Washington managed only 29.
The Clippers are clearly trending upward, having climbed to 10th in the Western Conference with an 18–23 record. Still, injuries remain a major concern. With Leonard and Collins unavailable, the burden falls squarely on James Harden and a cast of role players.
While Washington owns one of the league’s worst records, they have shown flashes of competitiveness. Given that the Clippers are heavily favored despite their depleted lineup, this sets up as a potential trap game. The Wizards may have a real chance to keep this one close—or even spring an upset.
