The Brooklyn Nets suffered another brutal loss, falling 89–126 to the Los Angeles Clippers and extending their losing streak to five games. The contest was effectively decided in the first quarter, as the Clippers raced to a 24-point lead and never looked back.
Brooklyn was shorthanded, with Noah Clowney (back soreness), Cam Thomas (ankle sprain), and Nolan Traoré (illness) all sidelined. Terance Mann returned to the starting lineup, while Ben Saraf made his first appearance since December 6. The Nets’ offense struggled badly, shooting just 33.7% from the field and a dismal 20.9% from three-point range.
The Phoenix Suns also come in off back-to-back losses to the Hawks and Heat. Devin Booker suffered an ankle injury against Atlanta and is expected to miss at least one week, while Jalen Green remains unavailable. In the 102–111 home loss to Miami, Phoenix opened the game poorly, committing four turnovers in the first four minutes. Beyond ball security, questionable shot selection plagued the Suns early.
While Booker’s absence is a significant blow, Brooklyn’s lack of form and urgency makes them an unconvincing opponent. Phoenix still holds a clear edge at home. Grayson Allen is expected to replace Booker in the starting lineup, and after a game of adjustment, the Suns should settle into a more stable rhythm against the Nets.
Given the injury situations and overall quality gap, the point spread is unlikely to be excessive. The straight play favors Phoenix at home.
