Cristiano Jr gets a big hug after helping his country to glory

His cameo appearance came after making his debut against tournament hosts Turkey last week.

Cristiano Jr also notched his first goal for Portugal U16s in their 3-0 triumph against Wales en route to the final.

The talented teen was played through on goal and calmly slotted past the keeper to get off the mark.

Rodriguez, whose engagement to Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo was announced in August, was watching proudly from the stands as Cristiano Jr followed in his dad’s footsteps.

The model and influencer took to Instagram following Portugal U16s’ triumph, where she penned an emotional post.

Alongside images of Rodriguez hugging Cristiano Jr and posing with him and the Football Federations Cup trophy, she included the caption: “I love being a mom. I am very proud of my big boy.”

Portugal U16s overcame England in the final thanks to a brace from Braga academy talent Rafael Cabral.

It is already the second competition that Cristiano Jr has won at youth level for his country.

He scored twice in the final when Portugal U15s were victorious in the Vlatko Markovic International Tournament in May.

The highly-rated forward is part of the youth set-up at Al-Nassr, the Saudi Pro League side where Ronaldo is continuing to shine.

Cristiano Jr also spent time in the academies of Real Madrid and Juventus when his dad was on their books.

Ronaldo has confirmed that he is planning to retire “soon”, having enjoyed a glittering career which has seen him win the Ballon d’Or five times.

The Portugal talisman, 40, was also crowned a Premier League champion on three occasions during his first spell at Manchester United.

Ronaldo signed a fresh two-year deal with Al-Nassr in June and is on course to be involved at the World Cup next year.
