A beloved Manchester United figure once pursued a former lingerie model turned MUTV anchor after an flirtatious interview session.
Jonny Evans, who marked his 38th birthday on January 3, first crossed paths with his spouse, Helen McConnell, during a segment for the Red Devils' official media outlet. The blonde star's striking appearance caught more than just Evans' eye, as Helen had also established a successful career in modeling.
Even while pursuing her broadcasting ambitions, the media personality remained signed with the Belfast-based Style Academy agency. "Helen is a charismatic, athletic, and well-liked individual who joined us after being a finalist for the Sunday Life cover girl search in 2004," noted Tracey Hall.
"While she doesn't meet the height requirements for the runway, she is a top choice for commercial photography due to her exceptional features.
"She led a major seasonal fashion campaign for Victoria Square, appearing on billboards in everything from elegant gowns to intimate apparel and beachwear.
"She remains part of our agency, though her schedule has been packed lately. We anticipate a surge in interest for her following the nuptials."
Helen relocated from Belfast to Manchester alongside her close friend and fellow model Julie Doherty, eventually securing a coveted position with MUTV.
Her previous professional profile stated: "Her passion for football and Manchester United wasn't forced; it developed naturally, making United the only club she truly followed from a very early age."
The couple exchanged vows in 2013 at a high-profile ceremony held in Northern Ireland.

In 2015, Evans' first stint at Old Trafford ended as he moved to West Brom, while Helen continued her role within the club's media department.
It appeared his journey with the Red Devils had concluded until his unexpected comeback in 2023 during the Erik ten Hag era.
Evans bid his final farewell to the club in 2025, officially retiring from professional football and cementing his status as a permanent fan favorite at United.
Reflecting on their journey on social media, Helen wrote: "12 years on, with an 8-year hiatus in between and 3 children added to the team... it's goodbye to Old Trafford. Best supporters on the planet."
